Give your home a unique style with beautiful 3d wall art

This canvas wall art was designed and created for a room decorated in tones of green and beige and a request for simplicity was taken into account.  Having wall art specifically created for your home is the best way to give a room individual style, you will always admire it whereas buying wall art that is in fashion now is not always a good buy as the look will date and you will soon tire of this kind of decor.

Unique Room Decor for girls of all ages

February 25, 2012 under Unique Room Decor for girls of all ages

It’s not easy to find unusual and unique room decor for the home particularly for a girls bedroom or nursery.  The original
idea for my wall art came from Spain and the colours and textures I use for many of my 3d designs are
based on this inspiration.
I also wanted to create wall art and accessories which have a designer feel and would be a great choice for older girls
or teenagers.

Add a designer feel to a room with personalised wall art

Unique room decor for girls of all agesWhen decorating a room, I’m sure most of us would like to add accessories that really bring a room together and give it individual
style but they are not always easy to find, I know this, that is why I created my own!

The Heart of Flowers wall art designs have been created to bring a luxurious and quality feel to a room, any of these designs would
be suitable for a nursery or girls bedroom with all ages appreciating such unique and colourful room decor.  The canvas can be
personalised with any name, and girls love to have accessories specially made for them.

I wanted to create wall art that would not be grown out of quickly, that would be always be fashionable and bring the Wow Factor
to a room. The personalised graffiti wall art I have created is fantastic for all ages and can be custom made to suit specific
requirements. They are a popular choice for girls and boys who absolutely love to see their name on the wall!

Personalised graffiti wall art for girls

Girls room decoration has never been so beautiful so if you are looking for unique room decor for a girls room or nursery please
look at the designs I have created and remember that any design can be created in other colours.  Don’t settle for the norm and
what you will find in many homes, there is an alternative with my handmade canvas wall art or personalised graffiti wall art.

Comfort in the home

January 25, 2012 under Comfort in the home

Stylish and comfortable room decor

We all want our homes to be a comfortable and inviting place to live. To make this possible you will need to consider
practical use of space and what is required for natural light and fresh air, also to consider is privacy and warmth.
Colour is important as it will set the mood and home furnishings will reflect your taste.

Home comfort is also about contentment, health, well being and satisfaction in an atmosphere of domestic calm.
Many things contribute to home comfort: scented candles, wall art, room decor with colour to make you smile,
sunshine and shade.  Most people would agree that comfort is at the heart of a home, however home comfort is
something different for us all.

We all want the physical comfort, deep armchairs with cushions, sofas to stretch out on.  We like to have familiar
things

There is a pleasure to be had, too, from what is recycled and inherited, objects that will last a lifetime and those
that are hand made or hand crafted rather than mass-produced.

Collections and mementoes also enhance our feeling of comfort as heartening reminders of special people and places.

Styling your home

Have the confidence!
Deciding on a style for your home takes some confidence and a spirit of adventure.  Look around you at your friends homes and at arrangements in shops and look in lots of interiors magazines and
gradually decide on what you like and what colours and styles you would like to have in your home.

Do not be put off if someone makes negative comments about your choices, taste is completely individual and
no two households are the same.

Make your home interesting and individual
It would be easy to copy the latest trends and styles but why not be much more creative and bring some individuality
to your home.

You will also find that trends soon come and go and you will soon tire of room decor that has been copied.

Rustic and contemporary home decor

Choose an individual style for your home

If you have been in your current home for some time and have decided you want to update and change the style,
be prepared to step back from your original decor and decide on something new.
This may be nerve-wracking as you embark on altering what have been your most familiar surroundings
for some time, but it will be worth it when admiring friends and family come to have a look and the compliments
flow thick and fast!

Why I love creating

January 6, 2012 under Craft and the love of creating

Blank canvas ready to transformbrushes and paint at the ready

I have a passion for home interiors and I love to find unusual pieces for the home that create an individual look.
When I start to create a new design for my wall art I look at an interior and decide what would look good in that
particular room taking many things into consideration.  I enjoy deciding on the colours and the challenge of coming
up with a new design.

I am sure there are many different reasons why we love crafting or creating and it will vary depending on the actual
craft one is doing.  However, many of us do it for the enjoyment of creating something from scratch, thinking of an
idea and watching it develop into something they are completely happy with.  If given as a gift or sold at a fair it is
wonderful to see someone appreciating something you have created.

quality art products used by Craft on Canvas

I love the excitement, the apprehension, the challenge, I also love the variation of painting, cutting, sewing that is
involved with my contemporary canvas art. I love to involve my children, asking them to draw some new designs and
colouring them in, they give me some great ideas and they know their opinions are important.

I am sure I am not alone when I say that I get very frustrated when something does not work in the way I had imagined,
yet I cannot quite pinpoint the reason why it does not work.  It may be weeks before it occurs to me why I am not 100% happy
with a particular design, thankfully I am pretty patient which is important when it comes to attention to detail.  However, the
enjoyment outweighs the frustrations and overcoming a challenge gives a lot of satisfaction.

Choosing colour for wall art

Scientists have long known that colour affects mood and emotion.  At the turn of the 20th century, the swiss
psychologist, Carl Jung, wrote: Colours are the mother tongue of the subconscious. Colour can evoke long
forgotton recollections and sensations.  Never ignore your emotional response to it, since positive associations
can enhance your sense of well-being.

Choosing colour for wall art

When choosing colours for your home, you could begin with a treasured possession or an object that pleases
you, and plan the colour scheme for a room around it.  If you do not wish to redecorate, use soft furnishings
or wall art to add splashes of colour - an easy and inexpensive way to revitalize a room.

The Primary colours

RED

This bold, warm colour is guaranteed to create an impact wherever you use it, since it stimulates body and
mind.

In China, the colour red spells luck and happiness, in India, marriage and universally, romance.  Red light
excites the brain so red arouses passions.

YELLOW

The warmth, energy and life-enhancing properties of the sun are embodied in yellow.  Use this colour to
stir happy emotions.
Every room benefits from a touch of yellow to bring out its flavour, in the same way that salt brings out
the flavour of food.  Yellow drenches a room with light when the sun shines and makes a room glow on dull days.
Yellow will bring a ray of sunshine to the pokiest space, and looks good in artificial light too.

BLUE

Perceived as the colour of the intellect, blue conjures up visions of sky and sea.  It has an expensive quality
that calms and soothes.When the sky is blue, life seems better and your spirits rise - but why is that?
Perhaps the comfort you get with blue comes from its being associated with infinity and eternity.
The colour blue varies enormously - navy, indigo, violet-blue, cornflower…..  Whatever shade you
choose, you can rely on it to be cool, calm and collected.

The Secondary colours

ORANGE

Cosy and inviting, orange can also overwhelm with its intensity.  It is easier to use when softened into tones
such as apricot.

More gentle than yellow or red, orange works in harmony with both, and is always
welcoming and suggestive of intimacy.  In Japan and China, orange is the colour of love and happiness.

GREEN

Harmony, balance and regeneration reign with green; its qualities reflect nature’s own. Use it to give new
life to a room. Traditionally, green represents balance and harmony.  It is the colour of the landscape,
reminiscent of fresh growth.  Our sense of colour is learned from the landscape and colour associations that
occur in the natural world suggest combinations to use at home.

VIOLET

Although it is named after a shy wildflower, violet is hardly reticent.  Relieve its oppressive tendency with
sunny orange or yellow. The expression, shrinking violet, underlines an association with privacy,
while deep purple signifies royalty and priestly power and is a ceremonial colour for formal rooms.

In your home, as in life, colour speaks all languages.  It brings vitality to any space, be it a period property
or a modern home, and plays tricks with senses and mind to make a room feel warm or cool, or appear
larger or smaller than it really is.

Earth tones

There is an abundance of vivid colour in nature, which you can reflect at home but restful tones of cream,
grey and brown have a beauty that is timeless and easy to live with.  Natural tones work well together and
there is a good choice of these shades to work with.  Peaceful shades of buff, camel and biscuit offer simple
sophistication.  If you want to add strong colour, choose those with a similar earthy quality such as terracotta
and jet black.  Complement these colours with your choice of materials, such as earth-toned slate and stone,
wood, rush matting, raw silk and unbleached cotton.

Grey and black

Closely related to white, grey comes in many subtly different shades that create a relaxing atmosphere.
It is also possible to achieve liveliness and variety with muted greys and whites. Black, the dramatic opposite
of white -is its natural partner.  Black and white is a classic combination much favoured by modernists
and also a nostalgic reminder of lace collars on velvet dresses and chequered marble floors.

Choosing colour for my wall art

There are no set rules when I start designing wall art and looking at colours. There may be a time when I
decide on a colour scheme, however once I start putting those colours together on canvas, it may not be
right for the picture I want to create.  It is a little like a jigsaw puzzle, I have to look for the right colour
and once it is found and matches with the next colour, I will know immediately and it seems to fit beautifully.

Contemporary wall art

March 4, 2011 under Contemporary wall art

Contemporary and classic home decor

The contemporary canvas art I have created, which also include
the kids bedroom designs has its own individual style which will
complement many different styles. If you have a minimalist
approach to home decor, unusual and colourful wall art will bring
the room to life and the room will have a more ’cosy’ feel.

If your home decor style is more traditional, don’t feel that you
have to continue this style throughout , a combination of traditional
and contemporary can work really well together. A mix of old and new,
(if done well), in my opinion is one of the best looks in interior design.

Texture has a visual quality - the combination of light and dark, the layering of colour, tone and pattern -that brings vitality, interest and imagination in the decor of your home.  Pattern can be called visual texture but choosing and co-ordinating it is often confusing as the possibilities are endless.

Harmony is easily acheived if you begin with a single colour or piece of fabric, and add toning patterns and textures. It is difficult to imagine how patterns can work in

buy cialis

a room from small sample squares so try and go for larger pieces of fabric and take time to gather a multitude of swatches before deciding what is right for you.

Wall art in the home can work really well, choose wall art that is the right size for the wall it is intended for and choose colours that will co-ordinate or add contrast in the room.
