The inspiration for my art started in Spain. I love to see the white washed buildings and rustic surroundings,
also the use of vibrant colours. I also love the canarian
architecture and the unusual colours used for these buildings. The textures and colours are the main inspiration for my art and I love to feel the
warmth and happiness when entering a room, surrounding yourself with lovely accessories in a room will create this. My home has a touch of the mediterranean in each room!
Create your own headboard 
One idea I had whilst in Spain was an unusual way of creating a ’headboard’ for the bed, I didn’t want the usual
padded headboard found in most stores,I wanted a more individual look.
To achieve this look you will need:
A curtain pole
Fabric
Rectangular shaped foam (Dunhelm mill have various sizes available,which is easy to cut)
If you are good with a sewing machine I am sure you will have no problem covering the foam to make two
rectangular ’cushions’. If not, you may have to ask someone to make the cushions for you.
You will also need to add the tabs to the cushion as these will then be used to hang the cushions from the
pole.
This really is a great way of adding style and individuality to your home, you can choose from some fabulous
fabrics but I would suggest going for a slightly heavier fabric as this will give a more upholstered look.

this will finish off your bedroom beautifully.
There are some wonderful curtain poles around with an excellent choice of finials. I went for the spanish look,
wrought iron is widely used in Spain especially in staircases. This kind of look will never date, it may not be in
fashion now but I don’t always go for what’s in fashion, I go for the things I like, creating a more individual look
with things you love is what makes a home special.
I found similar headboard covers in La Redoute which are available in various colours. They are made from 100% cotton
canvas, you just need to buy the pillows which fit inside these covers.
